The concept of flight has long been on the minds of many, even before the Wright Brother's big breakthrough. There is something so captivating and wonderful about the concept of flight. Just the idea alone of being able to 'touch' the clouds is enough to captivate my mind. This thought has gotten a hold of the minds of many aviation pioneers of the past and the present, which will surely happen in the future as well. Flight is more than the listed definition. Flight is more than just a word or a concept. In my eyes, flight has always been described as a fire burning passion. Once that interest digs into the brain, then the fire within is lit. For I myself, have experienced this very thing. After the Wright Brother's were finally successful with their first flight, they were forever intrigued and bound to the concept of flight. Without the aviation pioneers before us, the aviation industry would cease to exist. I have nothing but pure appreciation for this industry. The feeling of flight is indescribable. One of the first times that I had flown I was in complete awe as the drag of the plane caused my heart to beat a little quicker. The small amounts of turbulence caused my stomach to be overcome with a butterfly feeling. Jumping from cloud to cloud is something that is very satisfying. Standing on the ground: many have often thought of clouds as big, giant, fluffy cotton balls. When in a plane everything is a whole new world. Flying through the clouds is like walking through a heard of sheep. The white, puffy splotches flood the outside of the plane in shades of whites and grays. Spread your wings and fly... One of the most interesting sayings that I have come across is the following: "spread your wings." The only problem is that we do not have wings. I know that this can have so many meanings, but in reality, we don't have wings. Since the first flight we now have the privilege to have wings; those of a big metal bird. This is such a beautiful thought. As a future pilot I cannot wait to finally fly one of these metal birds. The connection to the sky has long been a strong one. Just like these aviation pioneers before me, I have been able to have a strong connection to the sky. In every way the sky is very beautiful. It holds the mark of a new day, sunrise, and it marks the end of a day, sunset. The sky shows the stars, the moon, and the sun. Avians, Bees, and planes fly through it. The clouds move and create photographs and the rain that returns to the ground. The sky displays some of the most gorgeous colors: blues, pinks, reds, oranges, and yellows. "The sky holds the mark of a new day, sunrise, and it marks the end of a day, sunset." Look Up...
Clouds are one of those awe inspiring moments when flying. Viewing from the sky is a whole new perspective than the ground. Overall, flying has long captivated the minds of many. I can now say that I am one of those many. Even people who do not care for aviation or flying can still find peace and awe with the sky. Just one look up is just enough to capture a small sense of wonder how amazing this world is.
