1/31/2022 0 Comments Architecture Bucket ListBuildings are an interesting part of history, society, and they create well known landmarks. In this world, there are a lot of famous buildings and other architectural feats that are recognizable immediately. This post is a part of my bucket list series where I discuss amazing places I want to go, things I want to see, and neat things I want to do. Without a doubt, life is about creativity, adventure, and the journey along the way. Seeing new places is so much fun. Traveling provides that unique experience that will never be forgotten. Meeting new people along the way is also a neat experience. In life, it is always the memories that survive a lifetime. The Colosseum: History is both very interesting and very important at the same time. The colosseum is old, very old. Since there is a lot of history behind this crumbling building, it captivates my mind even more. I could hardly imagine how neat it would be to see this building in person. Being able to observe this would expand my knowledge in both history and the architectural feats of that specific time period. The Colosseum is located in Rome, Italy. Italy seems to have a lot to offer, which is why I have a strong desire to travel there. In this list, there are quite a few architecture feats in this country. It seems that the Italians loved to curate especial buildings to inspire future architecture. La Sagrada Familia: Located in Spain, La Sagrada Familia is one of the most famous cathedrals in the world. Being a language guru, Spain would be the perfect place to practice my Spanish and gain some historical knowledge. This cathedral is still not finished to this day. La Sagrada Familia is an architectural wonder in a sense that it is so intricate and perfect in its design. Each part of the cathedral looks stunning -yet perfect. Going along with my love for languages, I also love learning about culture and art. La Sagrada Familia interests me for those very reasons. Scotland and Ireland Castles: I have to admit that both Scotland and Ireland look like stunningly beautiful countries. The seemingly lush and green landscapes look like something out of a fantasy movie. Both of these unique countries are on my bucket list. What is more vintage royalty than castles? For my whole life I have always wanted to take part in a castle tour. The appearance of these castles is so neat. It looks like something out of a fairytale. Taj Mahal: Located in the country of India, the Taj Mahal makes a statement. This was built to be a tomb. The looks of the mausoleum is stunning. The unique shapes, textures, and colors of this monument makes it appear very beautifully in the landscape around it. The main reason why I want to travel here is because of its popularity and beauty. Pyramyds: Pyramids are probably not something that we all think of as architecture. I have to admit myself that these are not really buildings, but they deserve to be put on my bucket list here. At the time of their creation they were a huge architecture feat. It seems impossible that these giant pyramids were actually constructed during the time of the ancient Egyptians. On the other hand, they did it. Today, these unique shaped buildings stand in the desert. I would love to see the Pyramid of Giza. Leaning Tower of Pisa: Another location in the wonderful country of Italy. One of the many nouns that come to mind when I think of Italy is indeed the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is amazing how this leaning tower has survived despite the fact that it is leaning. I believe that it would be so much fun to stand next to the tower and get my photo taken. Eiffel Tower: Ah, Paris, France... also at the top of my personal bucket list. A nice stroll by the tower while eating some authentic French food sounds like a dream. My fascination with both the French culture, language, and the food has left me yearning to travel here. The Eiffel Tower is a symbol of France. I would love to see the tower both during the day and at night. It seriously sounds like something out of a cute dream. Big Ben: I never thought that a clock would make it onto my personal bucket list. However, this is not just a clock. This one holds historical importance and the keeping of time. Located in the United Kingdom, I have just recently added this sight to my list. The intricacy of the designed clock tower shows just how detail oriented the creative mind can be. Frauenkirche Dresden: There are several of these Catholic Cathedrals all across Deutschland. These are gorgeously laid out cathedrals. The reason behind this choice is because I am a Germanophile. I love all things German and I also love both the language and the culture. Traveling to the Frauenkirche will help me better connect with the German culture. Parthenon: The Parthenon is located in Greece. I personally yearn to travel to Greece because of its stunning views that is provided. This sight possesses a lot of history and a lot of information that has built the country of Greece. Cologne Cathedral: Located in Cologne, Germany this is yet another German bucket list item. I do love to see the different sights of other religions besides my own because it helps me better connect and understand the world. Cathedrals seem to be very pretty and intricately designed. Acropolis Another destination specific to Greece, more specifically: Athens, Greece. There is just something about ancient and history that captivate my mind. The interesting point about Greece architecture is that we see it in our modern day in the Unites States. These historical holders have inspired the future -us- to create our modern buildings. The Gateway Arch: The Gateway Arch in Missouri seems to be an interesting sight with history behind it. It appears a beautiful metallic color that reflects the surrounding areas. The White House: Since I am American I think it would be neat to visit the White House at least once. Back in the eastern states, there is a lot of history because that is where this country first began before the westward movement. Seeing the white house will add to my knowledge of American history. Musée du Louvre: This is one of the most famous museums in the world and it is located specifically in France. It is convenient because the Louvre is in Paris and so is the Eiffel Tower. Some of the most famous art pieces are featured in this museum. I love art, and I have always had an admiration towards artists and the art community. Life is all about creativity. I love being able to see other people's ideas come to life via different mediums. It is quite nice seeing other's express themselves. The Sistine Chapel: The last, but not least destination is the Sistine Chapel. This is another art and religion based destination. I would love to examine the famous Sistine Chapel ceiling that was painted by some very famous artists. Art has history too, and traveling to this Chapel will elaborate on that history. This will elaborate my sense of creativity and inspiration. While these are only a select number of architecture related places, there are more than what I have mentioned that I want to travel to. These mentioned are the ones at the top of my personal list. Humans have always created interesting buildings. In my opinion, just like art, architecture brings the world together. "I call architecture frozen music."
