I have to admit that for the longest time I did not like cars to the slightest degree. It was not until I discovered the beautiful country of Germany and started to learn the pure language of German. Now I consider myself a Germanophile with all things German at the top of my bucket list. That is when my car bucket list began. Places all around the world seem to have some niche with cars, however I specifically love German cars. I have curated a list of a few things that I want to do that are car related all across the world. Drive The Autobahn: For those who do not know what the autobahn is, this road is a fast paced road in Germany. I just recently discovered that this exists while I was studying about the country. It is virtually speed limitless. I have always wanted to see how fast a car can go. The fairly straight road connects the country together. This road allows quick travel from point A to point B and so forth. The pure reason why I have this on my bucket list is to test a car’s limits. While driving this road I would love to operate a German made car: a BMW, an Audi, or a Volkswagen. Personally, these three manufactures are my favorites. For the longest time humans have been obsessed with speed, flight, and other modes of travel. Germany is known for its tough built, long lasting cars. There has been record speeds that have taken place on the Autobahn. Visiting the sites where these iconic moments took place is for sure something on my bucket list. Visit the Volkswagen (VW) Theme Park: Okay, I can bet that not a lot of people know about this one. I did not even know this existed until very recently. The largest car manufacture in the world is Volkswagen. I love Volkswagen, as I personally drive one. This theme park is located in Wolfsburg, Germany. Volkswagen theme park is also called die Autostadt. Die Autostadt means the automobile city in German. The park features rides and two iconic car vending machines. Vending machines will maneuver, lower, and roll out cars with no miles on them. These cars are made by the company Volkswagen. Being able to watch cars being lifted out of these tall cylindrical buildings seems like something out of this world. Autostadt allows a complete view of some of the iconic cars that VW has made. One of my personal favorite VW vehicles is the Kombi because of how unique they looked. The Autostadt is at the top of my car bucket list. Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) Museum: There will be a lot of museums featured on this list. While driving in itself is very fun, it is also equally as enjoyable to see the history behind these vehicles. The BMW museum is located in München, Germany. The reason why I want to go here is to dive deeper into Germany's car history and why they make unique cars. BMW does not just display modern cars, but rather, they display older models to show the evolution of cars. From studying Germany, it is evident that they love cars. There is no doubt that Germans love achieving amazing feats with cars as well. I like traveling back in time as much as they love their cars. Museums are the greatest way to be transported into the past. Audi MuseumLocated in Germany as well, the Audi museum offers the same thing as the BMW and Volkswagen ones. The showcase of cars looks amazing. I like Audi as well. They do make nice cars from what I have been able to see. Once again, I love museums because they transport us back to the past. Seeing the evolution of cars is something that has just recently interested me. It is along the same lines as my passion for aviation. These museums seems to have a lot to offer that I would be elated to see and learn about. Drive Italy's Coast: Driving is such a relaxing experience. I have to admit that I would love to drive along the unique coast line of Italy. Just like Germany, Italy is known for their cars as well. Renting an authentic Italian car and driving along the coast seems like something out of a dream. Vintage cars are really unique and I would love to operate one of them while 'sailing' the coast. Italy has been on my bucket list for the longest time, however this was just recently added. Drive An Audi & A BMWAgain with the German cars, I love exploring new 'things' that will expand my horizon. Driving different cars will be so much fun. For a while now I have wanted to get behind the wheel of a nice Audi. Driving the Audi R8 on the Autobahn sounds like something out of a movie. I could just imagine the acceleration of both the car and adrenaline. Pacific Coast Highway: One of the most famous routes in America is the Pacific Coast Line. This runs along the state of California. I would love to add Oregon and Washington coast line roads to this list too. Providing stunning views of the ocean and the ocean breeze this road is sure to captivate a soul. Driving my car with the windows down while listening to my favorite genre of music sounds like a relaxing vacation all in one. This road has plenty of spots along the way that are bucket list worthy. Big Sur is definitely of these stops that’s on my must see list. Pacific Coast Highway also gives views of the green hills of Cali. From Seattle to Los Angeles this road will be a trip to remember. Adventures like these will never be forgotten. The views will never leave the mind forever permeated within. Route 66: Another famous American road is the infamous Route 66. The road travels throughout quite a few states that give a variety of places to see. It’s a road that goes through the unique parts of America. The reason why this road is on my bucket list is because of the fact that there are so many sights to see along the way. It’s just like the Pacific Coast Highway without the ocean. Route 66 gives the iconic ‘wild west’ vibes. It travels through the more desert parts of the country. Many of the sights along the 66 have been featured in many shows and movies. Route 66 has inspired many of the scenery in some of the most famous movies. I love to see where these iconic scenes were filmed. I have been privileged to visit the town that inspired Lilo and Stitch in Kauai, Hawaii. That town is called Hanapepe. Being able to see places like this helps connect the world, our lives, and these films together. I cannot wait to drive Route 66. Les Champs-Élysées: Located in France, this road holds fame because of the Arc de Triomphe. It connects the Arc to Place de la Concorde. France has long been one of the many European places on my list to travel. It seems like this road would be a nice little way to travel. Once again, this is a very historical road that holds those two historical locations. While traveling I enjoy learning about the more historical side of things. Get Behind The Wheel Of A Classic: We all have to admit that besides the fact that vintage items hold history, they are quite nice and built durable. One of these classic cars, for me, is the Volkswagen Beetle. I love these cars because they are cute and a symbol of the evolution of cars. Driving a manual is a part of the experience. My personal car is a manual, so it wouldn’t be any different. Manual shifting makes driving such a fun experience. I’ve always wondered what it’s like to drive a classic car and look cool all at the same time. Cruise The Country Roads: There is just something so wonderful about the countryside that has long intrigued my soul. Driving the country roads with the windows rolled down while listening to country music is a daydream of mine that will soon be a reality. Seeing the cows graze in the fields while the birds fly by makes me want to take off right now and go for a good drive. Golden Gate Bridge: The Golden Gate Bridge -being one of the most famous bridges in America- is sure on my bucket list. I have long been intrigued by the designing, building, and uses of bridges. They add a unique sense to the landscape. I have only seen the Golden Gate Bridge from the window of an airplane. Being able to drive on it will give a whole new perspective to this huge landmark. Drive Through All 50 US States: Taking a scenic drive throughout the United States is surely on this list. I would love to drive my car throughout all 48 states and rent a car while traveling through Hawaii and Alaska. This would provide a unique experience that will for sure last a lifetime. The States provides so many wonderful experiences, things to see, food to try, and opportunities. Traveling is about the journey, which means that the journey should be fun. Driving the US roads will bring forth so much experience in both travel and driving. Experience Driving On The Left Side: This one has always had me stumped, as I am used to driving on the right side of the road with the steering wheel on the left side of the vehicle. In the Uk, this is design is flipped. They drive on the left side of the road and the wheel is on the right side of the vehicle. While this sounds strange, I think it would be such an interesting experience. Trying new things has been my new years resolution that I will continue throughout my whole life. It may be like riding a bike backwards, but I am sure that it will be fun. Nürburgring: Another activity in Germany that is on my car bucket list is the Nürburgring. This is a high speed Grand Prix Track in Germany. Speed has always been a fascination with the Germans. This track allows drivers to travel at high speeds and drift around corners. It is like the Autobahn, but it is an actual race car track. Just recently this has been a new addition to my unique car bucket list. "Roads were made for journeys not destinations." These are a few of the items that are on my car and driving bucket list. My new found appreciation for cars and their unique history is the reason behind all of this. In my opinion, life is all about the adventure and the journey. The freedom of driving is almost as neat as the freedom of flight. There is just something so different -unique. I cannot wait to finally set on the road to accomplishing these epic bucket list items. Thank you for reading my content and following my blog.
