First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this blog. It means everything to me. This has been a wonderful journey for me. I cannot wait for more adventures to come. Every aspect of blogging has been an enjoyable experience for me. I will be the first to say that chickens are very intelligent beings that should be given an award. Every animal has their own personalities, and I certainly do believe that when it comes to chickens. Looking at each individual animal it is neat to see the variations in behavior. Each are different. A lot of people see and think of chickens just as food, but I think of them as playful animals that just want attention and food. Each batch of new chickens that comes in all has their own individual needs just like a human. I just love chickens because of their unique sense of personalities. One may be the sweet, compassionate chicken, while one might be a little bit more pushier. It all depends on the chicken. Aside from the unique personalities, chickens pick up bugs. If you have a bug issue in the soil or just lurking in the grass, then pick up some chickens. With their excellent bug searching, also comes the lawn mower. If the animals are out on pasture, then chances are, they will be partially mowing the grass from now on. Of course this depends on how many chickens someone has, but it's very fun to pick the grass and feed it to them. Chickens are a great insect management solution. Finding the perfect chicken isn't an easy task. The part that I find most fun about raising chickens is the fact that they adapt. They seem to not have much of a personality when they are young. However, as their growth progresses, you may start to notice that one chicken that comes and takes food out of your hand. Overtime, personalities will change and they will become what I like to call a 'new chicken'. There always seems to be that chicken that will eat grass out of my hand, but there is also that one chicken that just minds her own business. Like I mentioned above, chickens are very unique to themselves just like a human being. I love to see each individual animal's characteristics, traits, and personalities. That's really the beauty of nature. We are very privileged to be able to have chickens, and the wonderful joy that they bring. Animals are one of the many things that just brings so much joy. Sitting outside, watching the chickens walk around, and playing my ukulele is something that I enjoy to the fullest. "Life is better with chickens"
