2/6/2022 0 Comments Food Bucket ListThe universal language seems to be none other than food. Food has brought people together for centuries. It has always been necessary for survival and necessary for enjoyment. This is how we have connected with people all around the world. While I am certainly a very picky eater, I have to admit that there are some foods that are just on my bucket list to try. At the beginning of the year I made a permanent resolution about how I will try all sorts of new things. Food is one of these on my list. I love traveling to new places so that I can try these new foods. Each culture provides a unique cuisine. I cannot wait to try some of these. Polynesian Foods: Tonga: 'Otai Samoa: Panipopo Hawaii: Koelepalau Samoa: Moa Fa'asaina Samoa: Coconut rice Polynesian foods have had a special place in my heart because of my love for the islands. Traveling to Hawaii has given me so much experience with both the culture and the food. Polynesians have so many wonderful foods to try. One of my favorites is mahi mahi, Kailua Pork, pineapple, mango, and macaroni salad. Kailua pork is a huge hit at lu'aus. I love watching the pig being taken out of the imu. One thing to note with Polynesian foods is that a lot of their foods have a rich and deep history accompanied with it. One of my few favorite cuisines is the Polynesian food. German: Currywurst Deutsch Brot Schnitzel Käsespätzle Pretzel These are only a few of the foods that I really want to try when I hit up the country of Germany. As a Germanophile these foods are a must try. I look forward to my future trip to the wonderful country of Deutschland. I recently discovered that Volkswagen makes their own brand of currywurst. I really want to try Volkswagen currywurst. It sounds really good. As a person who personally loves bratwurst I am sure that currwurst will not disappoint. Italy: Gelato Gnocchi Arancini Ribollita Focaccia Italy has long been the country on my bucket list with a seemingly endless food bucket list. Italy in itself has a nice variety of foods. I love pasta, so this list would not be complete without at least one pasta item. Pizza is always so good, but I have always wanted to try authentic Italian pizza made in the heart of Italy. Hispanic: Authentic Empanada Arepa con Queso y salsa Elote Corn Mole Ropa Vieja I have long had a connection with hispanic food and the hispanic culture from taking a few years of Spanish. Learning about the culture and the food was apart of the class. I remember discussing these foods in class and I could not help but imagine eating these authentic dishes. They sound so good! Asian: Pho Kimchi Durian Authentic Raman Mango Sticky Rice I have to admit that I love Asian food. Chinese is among my favorite. Whilst on my trip to Hawaii a couple years ago I was able to try Thai -from a small Thai owned restaurant- food for the first time. I have to say that Thai food is really good too. I am looking forward to expanding my palette by trying more of these Asian foods that are on my bucket list. American: Philly Cheese Steak Alaskan Salmon Chicken and Waffles Jambalaya Texas BBQ While I am from America there are still some select foods that I have not been able to try. I thought that I would mention them because as few of these sounds really good. "Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness." There are so many foods on my food bucket list. These are just a few of the ones that I really want to try. It is so neat that food is like the world's universal language. People have created millions of delicious and mouthwatering dishes. These dishes bond each culture together. We all share something in common whether we all realize it or not.
