When I was almost a few years younger than I am now I was not too keen on getting my learners permit. Driving was not even on my list of 'want to do's' in life. I felt the sheer anxiety of getting out on the road. My heart was pumping and I was near close to giving up. It was a close call, but now, I am extremely obsessed with driving. How did I get there? Where I live people can get their learners permit at age 15. That is the age... I had anxiety. My mind did not want to drive and I was determined that I was not going to get my license. A week or two after my 15th birthday I went down to the DMV to get my learners permit anyways. I passed the pretest with flying colors and walked out with a learners permit. That is when my driving lessons began. I was protesting and procrastinating. I never ever liked driving, but I ended up getting my license just a week after my 16th birthday anyways. I pushed myself in order to just have the license and that was it. I did not drive for about a year until I got a car. I honestly got my whole world opened up, which helped shift my perspective. A couple years later is when the German obsession happened and I was hooked on German cars. BMV, Audi, and Volkswagen became my newest talk of the moment. I would spot them out on the road no problem. Soon enough I was able to point out the model of each car without any effort. My luck of the draw happened when I was able to bring home a Volkswagen Jetta -my dream car. Honestly, it really was my dream car. A black Volkswagen Jetta. However, it was. a manual and it certainly took time to learn how to operate. Within no time I was able to cruise the roads with near ease. My anxiety was gone. Through a lot of convincing myself and rewarding myself I was able to overcome that and be just fine. Ever since my perspective shifted I have been able to see the car world with a whole new light. BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen have still remain my favorite and only favorite car brands on the market. For this I have to thank the language of German, the Germans, and most of all those brands for powering my car obsession. "With that being said: my perspective shifted. It literally shifted from first to sixth within just a couple of weeks. Sometimes these mind changers are so important in life. As everyone ages the time also changes. Everyone has their minds shifted quite a lot. Throughout my life I have been able to change perspectives many times. Life goes on and our minds take in new information like the car takes in new gas. Our brains function as our engines that power our bodies through everyday. Our feet are the wheels that navigate the roads. Every bone in our body is like the frame holding the car together. No matter what eye color someone has their eyes are still like the navigation system. Our hearts are the steering wheel, taking hold of the car and directing it. The passions buried deep within give the engine -the brain- its horsepower and torque. The blood running through our veins is the gas that powers our vehicle. The smile that is present on the face can be attributed to the logo emblem on the front of the car."
