"The engine is the heart of an airplane, but the pilot is its soul." December 31st marks the end of another year and January 1st marks the start of a new one. It is crazy to think about how rapid the year 2021 went by. I cannot believe that it is indeed the start of another new year. I am so grateful to have made it through another year. With that being said, and the new year now here, I thought that I would explain some of the things that will be taking place this year. This new year will be the best one in my entire life. I finally get to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot. For the past 4 years I have had a love for the aviation industry. I also need to mention that I will end up becoming a commercial airline pilot. This is going to be a long journey of course, but it will forever be worth it. This is still so cool to think about. I am still in awe that this will be happening. Be sure to follow my journey through aviation training, schooling, and my journey to making my dream come true. Since I was young I have always had a love for the sky whether it's in the form of meteorology, astronomy, or the study of aerodynamics. This is finally going to be the year that I begin flight training. I am very eager to do so. My flight training should begin in the Fall of this year. If aviation is worth it you decide, however I can definitely give some advice. Aviation is one of those things that is up to you to decide if it is worth pursuing. Here is my personal opinion about choosing aviation. This is a perfect year to get started with a career in aviation. Places, businesses, and other organizations need pilots. My InputBefore continuing some simple questions that you can ask yourself are: was it just something that I saw on the internet, why am I interested, do I see myself doing this for the next 25+ years, and what are some other things in my life that could effect the outcome? All these are great questions that you can ask yourself before you begin pursuing aviation. For some, a career change is a very practical thing in life, they allow themselves to have a career change. Flying is a huge investment so make sure that you see yourself doing the job for at least 10-40 years depending on retirement plans. In my life, a career change is not practical and it wasn't an option for me, I knew that I wanted to do something that I love and that I would not want to change. The feeling of flight is like no other feeling on earth. It gives the feels of freedom challenging wind, gravity, speed, and simply what a human being cannot do. Jumping through clouds, hopping over storms, and feeling so close to heaven. Yes, flying is worth it no doubt about it. Every time a plane had passed by I would look up. I could never help but wonder where they were going. Planes crossed paths in the sky creating an X where each contrail intersected. They’d light up pink, orange, or even yellow when the sun went down. Each kissed the clouds as the planes floated on through. Creating a photographic painting in the sky above. Completely captivated by the greatness of aviation one day at a time. If this sounds like you chances are aviation is worth it for you. If most of your time is put towards watching planes fly, looking at the radar, watching airplane movies, or even building a model plane. Admiring every single detail in the airport, in the sky, or on the ground aviation is obviously for you in every aspect. Make 2022 a year of aviation and amazing opportunities. I myself, cannot wait to begin to explore this 'new horizon'. Being in the sky is a whole new worldI yearn to spend everyday of my life up in the sky: where I feel most at home. I love the feeling of takeoff and landing. The bumps of air along the flight as the plane easily glides through the air. "Flying is freedom and freedom is flight."
