Looking at this photo reminds me of the most recent trip that I was able to take to the islands of Hawaii, more specifically the island of Kauai. The islands of Hawaii have long inspired me along my photography journey. I am nowhere near considered a professional photographer. I just love taking photos that I can use to reflect back on the most precious moments in life. What a nice experience it is to revisit these locations via the photos that I have taken. When I look at this photo I remember feeling the wind blow my hair. The neat thing about photos is each one shows a new perspective. As a future airline pilot I love to see the whole panorama of the full view from the cockpit windows. That is not always possible especially in the realm of photography. In my photos I strive to see a whole new perspective, or capture as much as I can. Sometimes with photos the observer needs to use their own imagination -or perspective- to see the whole picture. Building off of what is shown in the photo can elaborate the rest of the photo. Every once in a while I love to share photos that I take, as this is one of my many hobbies. This is one of my favorites that I have taken. Kilauea Lighthouse in Kauai, Hawaii stands at the edge of a cliffside giving light to sailors out at sea. In order to take this specific photo of this gorgeous lighthouse I positioned my camera behind the chain link fence. One aspect that I love about photography is that I can make the photos my own. I thought that the chain link fence would add an interesting aspect to the photo. In my personal opinion I believe that the concept of 'blurring' adds character to the photo. This is why I focused on the lighthouse, which made the fence appear blurred. This time in this photo I did the opposite. Instead of focusing on the lighthouse, the fence was brought into focus. Looking at this image it looks very interesting. It takes the viewer some effort to elaborate and take into consideration their own perspective instead of my perspective like the other photo. Incorporating different ideas and perspectives into photos makes a nice composition project. I love being able to look at my old photos and remember those moments that make me so happy. These two photos have helped me finally realize that composition in photos is what sets the tone for an amazing photo. "A camera is the save button for the mind's eye."
