"The way we all feel things is beyond different. Life throws its curveballs at all of us differently. It is never solely about just the destination, but rather, it is purely about the journey we take. Life is never just about facing consequences of action, but it is about what we learn from them and how we can change. The problems that arise always have a solution, but how do we handle them, or how do we get there? Maybe it all has to do with perspective... It does. One thing always has the power to make the biggest difference. The power, the power lies in positivity, perspective, and passion." I always saw people blissfully jumping through the halls at school seemingly shouting praises from the rooftops. All throughout school I was not one of those individuals. There was just something so different about me that caused me to never fit in. It is rough being an outcast and being different. On one hand it truly taught me something, something deeper than just the fact that being an introvert has its positives and negatives. Yes, believe it or not, I am an introvert. Through the power of learning languages, writing, drawing, taking photos, and so much more I have been able to connect with a lot of like minded individuals. Henry Ford said this,“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” I wrote that in bold to prove a point here. Going throughout life has taught me so much more than I could write with a pen and on a paper. It is so important that we remember life will be so hard at times. It is really about what we do while going through these trials. As a future airline pilot, I love this quote. However, it can apply to all of us no matter how old we are, what career choice has been made, or even where we are from. The basic physics and aerodynamics prove his point even further. We must fight the headwind by making the right choices, putting forth greater efforts, and sticking through until the end. I have since found writing as my mechanism to tell my story, to get my point across, and to even share some light with the world. I truly do believe that the greatest things come from the smallest things. I personally have been able to experience some pretty huge things in my life. As time went on I finally realized that it is the smallest actions, events, and things that count the most. If it is thought about deeper, we can see that bigger picture that life gives us. That is where the brightness of life has come from. Without the small and simple things this life would be pretty boring. If I do say so myself, this whole experience of being an introvert has taught me that you don't have to go all through the halls shouting. Your actions are indeed greater than words. The concept of 'looking up' has always gotten to my head. I feel that impenetrable connection with the heavens above. There is just something so seemingly different being up in the clouds. I feel something there that is so different. Being able to see the world from a whole new perspective has truly helped me understand the beauty of it all -yes, all of it. I am able to bear a strong witness that the sky above us is our connection with heaven. I feel as if I am truly at home -in heaven. See, my eyes have always been drawn to the clouds in the skies above. That sheer bond between the sky and I has really pushed me a long in life. Since I have found my home in the clouds, I have yearned to spend everyday of my life up there. I feel at peace, at home, and at most certainly in awe. The Poem of Life, Light, and Pure Bliss My mind wandered the halls of life I always thought to myself 'how could I do it?' How could I make all of my dreams come true? Maybe that fire was finally lit I could not even fathom not sharing my connection That one with the sky that is It feels like my true home -where I am meant to be That sky that is His Maybe it was time that I go My mind instantly connected with the concept of flight It made me want to strive I tried with all my might Just how? How? Why? "Look up darling." Was what that voice said The skies are charming Maybe just so, this was time Time to fly My soul is now bound high It is time you try I found myself -in a good way that is Soon Honey, soon. The sky always smiled back at me And so did the moon It's a pretty big world out there You're just small The sky is big But remember your 'aha' moment at the mall? Small things do great things! You have the power Yes, you do And no it is not just this hour To change the world Go fly and see The blue touched my eyes Find me Find yourself Help others Find their light, joy, and passions You have no desire to join the club of mothers And that's okay Just make sure that you fly high Time flies on 'Oh my!' This poem was strongly inspired by my major 'aha' moments that I have had in my life. As I have been able to go throughout life I have had so many times, moments, and so forth that have taught me the importance of the small things. I have no desire to be that 'standard' cookie cutter lady. I want to fly, be different, and stand out amongst the crowd. There are really only five things that I ever want in life:
1) Fly planes 2) Accomplish all 500 items on my bucket list 3) Travel the world and meet new places 4) Gain as much knowledge as I can 5) Spread light, happiness, and joy all throughout the world Those five things are what I want in life, the only things I want. Everyday I strive to learn from something. It is so important to remember the small things to keep motivated. Whether they are blessings, moments, or even events, they are all worth remembering. Ever since my first connection with the sky I have been able to feel that happiness flow throughout my veins. The skies bring forth so much serotonin and dopamine. Without further discussion, the skies are the safest place -it is home.
