"Though planes seem so small flying overhead, they are quite remarkable metal birds. They seemingly float so effortlessly through the sky, planes fight against the wind, and they even weight tons. This is proof that anything is indeed possible."
-jettAV8R

I have always loved to write and express information through writing. This is like my own method of self expression. I have always had both the connection to the sky and to writing. These are a couple poems that I have written about flight.

Cloud Surfing:

“Open your eyes! Open your eyes!”
Personal Poetry Portfolio
Henderson 1
As I opened my eyes I saw seats in a plane It was nothing like a train
The engines gave off a bounteous roar
As I gazed out the window I realized more The world seemed small

That is: a small round ball 40,000 feet above
Further than a dove
That’s really a magical thing Surfing clouds over Beijing

Life Through A Pilot’s Eyes:

Walking through the airports was just my way of life The smell of fresh brewed coffee filled the terminal
I checked in before walking up the jet bridge
I have always liked the smell of jet fuel in the morning “Good morning, captain” one of the flight attendants said As I made my way to the cockpit I took a breath

Engines were fired up and the rumble gave me goosebumps The thrill of takeoff never gets old
My heart pounded as the plane turned
It’s my everyday life, but never gets old

That view never ever gets old. I long look forward to the day when I get to spend everyday up in the sky...

Ever since I was a young child I have had this connection with the sky. This interrelation
was almost indescribable -unlike anything else. My eyes would watch the clouds seemingly float by as the wind blew. There is just something so fabulous about being able to ‘touch’ the sky. The principles of flight are marvelous, and ever since the year of 2017 I was finally opened up to the world of aviation. One simple trip to Hawaii opened up my little 13 year old eyes to the metal birds of the sky. With that being said, ever since then I have known that flying is for me. Being in the sky, in command of an aircraft, has been a five year long dream of mine. Aviation itself has been the forefront of my life encouraging me to keep my eyes toward the sky.
