You have to admit that if you're probably reading this article, you most likely have Hawaii on your travel list. Why? I often have asked myself why I keep returning to these beloved islands. Vacations are nice, but the places are even nicer. Hawaii is for sure one of these places. I know that there is so much information out there about the islands. I thought that I would give my personal opinion as to why this is the best place to be. Despite the fact that there are so many places, countries, and regions in the world to see, it is clear that Hawaii stands out to me. The people of Hawaii are what make Hawaii, well, Hawaii. The people of Hawaii are just so friendly, welcoming, and caring. The beauty does not just lie in Hawaii's breathtaking scenery. The people are what makes Hawaii such a great place to be. It is no wonder why Hawaii is called the 'Aloha' state. When you go to Hawaii, you are welcomed in Hawaii. The people say 'aloha' and they welcome travelers. It is comparable to stepping into a whole new world. The Hawaii locals are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered. Aloha: Aloha has a simple, but complex meaning. Aloha is the way of the islands: happiness, kindness, compassion, love, and care. Aloha is more than a greeting and more than a phrase for an adieu. Aloha is caring for one another. Being happy and finding happiness. Aloha is helping one another and having compassion. My personal addition to the definition of the word aloha would be the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated, or in other words, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I love this aspect of Hawaii so much that I would consider moving to the islands. It is seriously a whole new atmosphere. The locals of Hawaii are so kind and it is a moving experience. Aloha is never just a word, but it is an action. The actions of the local people certainly show this.
Mahalo: Mahalo is another Hawaiian word that has a deeper meaning, or a deeper connection to the islands. Thank you is a regular phrase that is heard all throughout the world. Mahalo is how the locals say hello in Hawaii. Mahalo means more than a simple thank you. In Hawaii everything means more than what it means to us. Mahalo is an expression of deep gratitude and thanks. Mahalo nui loa Thank you very much Why Hawaii? While Hawaii has so many breathtaking sites, scenery, and wonderful things to do it is notable to mention the deep roots of the island culture. The kindness and the atmosphere is why I keep going back. I feel so welcomed and a part of the islands. It is no surprise that Hawaii is, in my opinion, the happiest place on earth.
